In John 17:21 we see Jesus praying to God the Father before He is about to be arrested and taken to the cross. In this verse we see Jesus pray:
"that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me." Jesus desires for all of us to be United with Him in the example He left for us. We here strive to be United with Him in word, thought, and deed so that God may be glorified in all that we do as well as people of the community of Hornell see Jesus in us. Through our reflection of Christ, the adolescent population of our communities will come to find the hope that we have, grow in their relationship with God, and share that hope with others. So that we all would Unite with God.
How We Become One With Christ:
To truly know Jesus is to be filled with an overwhelming desire to change. We see the awesome example that Jesus left for us and we strive to reflect that in every aspect of our lives. We become one with Christ by reflecting his example. Diving into scripture, growing in spiritual maturity, and developing a servants heart by serving are what we teach and do here. In this safe environment, we are able to come as the broken people we are and become one with God by confessing our sins and accepting Jesus into our hearts. United we stand in Christ, United we stand to strengthen each other, United we stand to encourage each other, and United we stand to spread the love of Jesus Christ to this community. We are UNITED!!!
United Youth meets every Sunday night from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (unless otherwise notified) at the community center (282 Canisteo St., Hornell, NY, 14843). We do occasionally change our hours and meeting place for special events and will notify everyone through our calendar and our youth Facebook page.
